A Tale of Segregation: Fetching Water (SPI 5.5.8)

Today in class, we began our unit on the Civil Rights Movement. In order for us to truly understand the accomplishments of this important time in American history, we must look at life for African-Americans in during the era of segregation. We learned that segregation simply means, "separate." For example, African-American children were forced to go to separate schools and African-American citizens were forced to use separate facilities. Students were asked to complete a KWL chart and then they should read the attached reading and answer the comprehension questions. Fetching Water
